Moryangdori

Moryangdori
'Moryangdori' is the personified character of a dolmen, a cultural asset of the prehistoric era, and the pride of Gochang. The comical but strong appearance shows a friendly city image and a strong will looking forward, toward the future. The old name of Gochang during the Baekje Dynasty, "Moryangburi Prefecture" and Dol or Dori (stone in Korean) due to the dolmen, the cultural asset of Gochang, were combined to name the character in remembrance of the old name of the county and the spirit of our ancestors. ‘Dori’ or Dol-Ei does sound friendly character as well.
