Hajeon Village is close to the 10km-long coastline along with a 1,200 ha-wide vast mud flat. It produces 4,000 tons of short neck clam a year, as it is the biggest producer in Korea. It is also selected as one of the 100 most beautiful fishing villages by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries for its beautiful mud flat.
Various experience programs are waiting for visitors, such as mud flat taxi riding, using a cultivator and short neck clam catching. Hajeon Village fishermen drive the cultivator for the mudflat activities. Visitors can catch clams and other various marine organisms and take them home.
The place is equipped with various amenities such as a restaurant, computer room, shower room, and shop. In front of the information center there is a vast parking lot and a shower booth for those who want to wash their feet after returning from mudflat. The mudflat is close to the facilities, providing the best environment for the experience.
Breaking away from urban civilization and the repeated modern daily routine, the mudflat will provide you a unique experience in Hajeon Village. You can inhale the sea breeze deep in your lung while driving along the expansive mudflat on a mud flat taxi, catching clams in a cool sea breeze, and engage in various other programs, such as mud flat soccer or a tug-of-war to relieve stress and recharge your energy.
