Location
Gochang is located along the southwestern border of Jeollabuk-do. The county ranges from 126˚ 26’ to 126˚ 46’ longitude east and from 35˚ 18’ to 35˚ 34’ latitude north. And it stretches 31km from east to west and 31.5km from north to south. It is adjacent to the city of Jeongeup and Buan-gun to its northeast and to Jangseong-gun and Younggwang-gun of Jeollanam-do to its southeast. The West Sea is located to its northwest.
