  • Land area: 1.79㎢
    • Wetland Reserve designated on March 14th, 2011
    • Ramsar Wetland registered on April 7th, 2011

    • Preserve wetlands and biodiversity, establish wetland preservation and management plan

    • Restrict activities on forest land
    • Preserve natural and ecological functions of the forest

Major Ecosystem Characteristics

Deserted lands are restored as ‘low’ forest wetlands and are valuable as a natural wetland recovery cases.

  • Plants (376 species), terrestrial insects (390 species), benthic invertebrates (24 species), amphibians and reptiles (12 species), birds (51 species), mammals (11 species), 864 species in total

  • Two endangered species designated by the Ministry of Environment: Otter (I), Small-Eared Cat (II)
  • Natural monument designated by Cultural Heritage Administration: Grey frog hawk, kestrel

  • Gochang Dolmen Remains, Seonunsan Mountain Provincial Park (24th Main Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism)
